Master of Food Science

UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

UNSW's Master of Food Science lets food scientists and related graduates deepen expertise in their current specialisation or, with Stream Authority approval, move into a different one after completing the relevant Graduate Diploma stream at a credit average. Students complete a complex, open-ended research-based project that builds systematic problem-solving, project planning and communication skills specific to food science research, functioning as a genuine pathway toward postgraduate research degrees for those who want to keep building research capacity. It suits food scientists looking to formalise and deepen existing expertise while staying connected to current thinking in the discipline, as well as professionals changing specialisation within food science who are prepared to complete the relevant bridging coursework first. The research project component gives graduates real research experience beyond what a purely taught postgraduate food science qualification would provide.
