About this program

The UNSW Master of Journalism and Communication is offered in three streams, from one year for applicants with a relevant degree and experience to two years for graduates from any discipline. It combines core journalism courses with electives, research preparation and an optional major research project, so students can build either a practice focus or a research focus. Fields covered include reporting across platforms, media law and ethics, strategic communication and digital media. Graduates work as journalists and broadcast presenters, content strategists, communications and media managers, and policy advisers across media, corporate, government and education sectors. Indicative international tuition is around A$50,000 in the first year; the full degree is higher for the longer streams.
