About this program
The Master of Science in Health Data Science at UNSW Sydney covers the full pipeline of health data work, from understanding complex real-world health problems through data wrangling and management, machine learning and data mining, analytics and modelling, to communication and data visualisation. The discipline sits at the intersection of biostatistics, computer science and health. The 72 unit of credit coursework program can be completed in 18 months full time or part time equivalent, and is fully articulated with exit points at Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma level. Students choose between a workplace or internship research dissertation and a capstone project plus electives drawn from more than 20 courses. Applicants from any undergraduate background, or with relevant work experience, can enter via the Graduate Certificate. Graduates are prepared for roles across the public and private health sectors, and high achievers are well placed for PhD study. The program is based at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney.
