About this program
UNSW's Master of Translation and Interpreting is a 96-credit-point program endorsed by NAATI, preparing students for certification as Certified Provisional Interpreter, Certified Interpreter and Certified Translator, with additional coursework enabling specialist certification as Certified Advanced Translator or Certified Specialist Interpreter in health, legal or conference settings. The program combines interpreting specialisations in legal, medical, business, community and conference settings with translation specialisations spanning multimedia, business, legal, medical, scientific, technical, subtitling and translation technology, giving graduates genuinely dual expertise rather than one discipline alone. Language combinations, offered subject to demand, span Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), French, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish and Turkish, with fully online study available only to domestic students not on an international student visa. Admissions
Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65% and an advanced level of bilingual proficiency.
