About this program

A four-year degree (the honours is built in, not a separate year) with a fourth-year thesis run across three courses, where students define a research topic and work with academic staff. First year covers programming, structured data, object-oriented programming, mathematics, and security; later years add theory of computation, operating systems, algorithms, distributed computing, and language models.

Students take one major from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Human-Centred Computing, or Programming Languages, and complete 12 to 24 units of work-integrated learning through an intensive computing project or ICT internships. The degree is provisionally accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society and recognised internationally through the Seoul Accord. Part-time study is not available to international students.
