The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth to Five Years) prepares you for a rewarding career teaching and leading learning in early childhood settings, supporting children from birth to five years during a period that matters most for their growth, development and learning. You can apply for this course if you’re a Year 12 school leaver or if you’re an early childhood education and care diploma holder. Eligible diploma holders can apply for credit for first-year units, recognising your existing qualifications and professional experience. Flexible study options Streamlined summer and winter course maps are offered to get you into the workplace quicker, enabling diploma-qualified early childhood education and care applicants to complete the degree qualification in two years. Professional experience Hands-on experience is a core part of your course. Throughout the course, you’ll complete 80 days of supervised professional placement in relevant early childhood and prior to school settings, carefully matched to your stage of study. Year 12 completion (or equivalent), ATAR 60.00 for Brisbane. An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy that includes meeting a minimum ATAR requirement.
