About this program

The Graduate Diploma in Management (GDM) is a nested, optional exit point within AIB's online MBA, representing the second of the MBA's 3 stages (after the Graduate Certificate in Management and before the full MBA). Studied 100% online, the GDM consists of 8 subjects in total, exploring strategic business knowledge and management skills in greater breadth and depth than the entry-level Graduate Certificate.

A student who completes the GDM but doesn't want to finish the final MBA stage still leaves with a genuine, highly regarded postgraduate qualification rather than nothing; a student who continues gets full credit toward the MBA for every subject already completed. The 2 compulsory subjects are the same Leadership and Strategic Management units that open the Graduate Certificate, with the remaining 6 chosen from a list of GDM optional subjects (typically drawn from the same functional areas that make up the rest of AIB's MBA core: marketing, human resources, operations, corporate governance and finance).

As with the rest of AIB's suite, subjects run in 8-week online terms with no residential requirement.

Career & PR pathway

Which careers in Business lead to skilled migration depends on the occupation, not the degree title. See the skilled occupation lists guide for which occupations are on each list, and the points calculator to check where you stand.

Admissions

Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent, or an AQF Level 8 qualification in any discipline, or AIB's own Graduate Certificate in Management; at least 3 years of relevant work experience (assessments are work-oriented); completion of AIB's study readiness survey. AIB is not a CRICOS-registered provider and cannot enrol Student Visa holders, so all AIB students, including international applicants, study 100% online.
