Master of Business Administration
Australian Institute of Business, Adelaide, SA, Australia
About this program
AIB is Australia's largest online MBA provider, and its generalist MBA is a 12-subject, fully online postgraduate degree built for working managers rather than full-time campus students. There is no residential requirement and no fixed intake calendar; the whole program runs through AIB's own Student Learning Portal in 8-week terms with a reflection week between them, so a student can complete it in around 12 months by doubling up or take closer to 24 months at one subject per term.
The degree is staged rather than all-or-nothing: the first 4 subjects (Leadership and Strategic Management plus 2 electives) constitute AIB's own Graduate Certificate in Management, the first 8 constitute the Graduate Diploma in Management, and all 12 make up the MBA. A student who has to step out partway still leaves with a recognised nested qualification. Teaching is built around case studies, structured discussion and workplace-relevant assignments rather than traditional lectures, on the premise that most candidates are already working managers.
Students who don't want one of AIB's 5 named specialisations (Entrepreneurial Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Marketing Management) take this generalist MBA, which finishes with a capstone Project addressing a real business problem, often drawn from the student's own workplace.

Career & PR pathway
Which careers in Business lead to skilled migration depends on the occupation, not the degree title. See the skilled occupation lists guide for which occupations are on each list, and the points calculator to check where you stand.
Admissions
Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent, or an AQF Level 8 qualification in any discipline, or AIB's own Graduate Certificate in Management; at least 3 years of relevant work experience (assessments are work-oriented); completion of AIB's study readiness survey. AIB is not a CRICOS-registered provider and cannot enrol Student Visa holders, so all AIB students, including international applicants, study 100% online.
