About this program
CQU's Bachelor of Agriculture (CV85, Rockhampton campus) equips students with agriculture knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills for professional roles improving the productivity and sustainability of modern agriculture. The course has an applied focus, building industry relevant training on a scientific basis, and includes internships and residential schools. Graduates pursue careers as leaders in agricultural production or agricultural businesses, supported by industry placements.

- 24 units (144 credits): an 8-unit core structure (Introduction to Agricultural Systems, Life Science Fundamentals, Scientific Research Fundamentals, Soil and Irrigation Management, Plant Science and Crop Production, Plant and Livestock Breeding Strategies, a Professional Placement or Project, and Agriculture Technology Transformation) plus one 8-unit major. Several core units run as residential schools
