About this program
CQU's Bachelor of Aviation (Commercial Pilot) (CL29, Cairns campus, international-only intake) prepares students for a career as a commercial pilot, delivering the aeronautical knowledge and flight experience needed for a Commercial Pilot Licence, Multi-Engine and Command Instrument Rating alongside a full Bachelor degree. The course can be packaged with an optional Test of English for Aviation Preparation unit, and is taught at CQU's Cairns flight training facility with real aircraft, simulators and a runway view from the classroom. Graduates are qualified to work as commercial pilots in air transport, or pursue general aviation roles such as flight instructing, tourism and agricultural operations.

Admissions
This course is offered to international students only (it is not open to domestic applicants). Applicants must meet CQU's standard entry pathway of successful completion of Australian Year 12 (or an equivalent overseas senior secondary qualification), an Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate IV (or equivalent), or approved university foundation studies, plus course-specific security and health requirements (including a medical fitness assessment) required to hold a Commercial Pilot Licence.
