The Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (Nautical Science) at the University of Tasmania, delivered through the Australian Maritime College in Launceston, is for students planning a career at sea as navigating (Deck) Officers and Masters on commercial vessels. Admissions
Admission to undergraduate courses at the University of Tasmania requires the completion of qualifications equivalent to a year 12 education in Australia. You can also meet the General Entry Requirement for this course with the following qualifications or prior studies: Completion of an equivalent AQF Certificate III in any discipline; successful completion of one (12.5 credit point) undergraduate unit of study at Diploma level or higher. If you do not meet the minimum requirements, the University of Tasmania Foundation Studies Program is available. Applicants must have studies or experience equivalent to a satisfactory achievement in Mathematics General and a Physical Sciences subject (Chemistry or Physics accepted as equivalents).
