Career & PR pathway
Which careers in Engineering lead to skilled migration depends on the occupation, not the degree title. See the skilled occupation lists guide for which occupations are on each list, and the points calculator to check where you stand.
Admissions
Completion of an Australian Year 12 qualification, or the equivalent international qualification. Skills check Domestic students You will be invited to complete a Skills Check following your application submission, before enrolling to your studies. This helps you to decide if your course is right for you and allows us to understand your current abilities in English, Maths, as well as using Digital technology. The recommended benchmark levels for this course are 4 in English, 4 in Maths and 4 in Digital Technology. If you are applying for a VET Student Loan the required levels to meet academic eligibility, as outlined by Commonwealth guidelines, is Level 4 English and Maths. Access and instructions on how to complete the Skills Check will be emailed to you once you have submitted your application. Read the Skills Check FAQs. Prerequisite requirements International students Successful completion of the Diploma of Engineering - Technical is required for you to commence this 12 month course. Selection criteria Sound Achievement in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent is recommended. Online self-directed For Online self-directed study, no classroom time is required for twenty (20) of the thirty (30) units required to complete the full qualification. At this time the remaining ten (10) units must be completed in full or part time mode on campus at Acacia Ridge. Note: additional distance units may be added as they become available.
