About this program
Curtin University's Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. This course offers two distinct majors. The Health Promotion major is designed for students interested in improving health and wellbeing at a population level through prevention, health equity, community engagement, policy, and systems change. It prepares graduates to work in diverse settings focused on enabling and supporting healthier social, cultural, environmental, and organisational conditions. The Health Services major is suited to students interested in the management, operations, and leadership of health services, including roles within hospitals, community health services, and allied health organisations. Bachelor Degrees prepare students to develop broad and coherent knowledge and skills in a discipline for professional work and further learning corresponding to AQF level 7 qualifications.

Admissions
Desirable for the Health Promotion major: At least one science course from the following list: Biology ATAR, Chemistry ATAR, Earth and Environmental Science ATAR, Human Biology ATAR, Integrated Science ATAR, Physics ATAR or Psychology ATAR. STAT elements considered are WE and either V or Q. Applicants for this course should refer to the Clinical Health Sciences and Police Clearances sections of the Faculty website. The Health Promotion major requires completion of a fieldwork placement of 100 hours in an external health promotion organisation under the supervision of an experienced Health Promotion Practitioner. Other practical opportunities are available to students throughout the course, including ad hoc volunteering and off-campus activities. The Health Services Major has optional units containing fieldwork hours. Applicants for a Bachelor Degree are required to meet University academic and English language entry standards; and include flexible entry pathways.
