Deakin University Bachelor of Computer Science requires 24 credit points across eight units, taken as one major plus two electives, one minor plus four electives, or two minors. Major sequences include Computational Mathematics, Data Science covering data mining, machine learning, deep learning, software architecture and scalability, natural language processing and artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things covering data capture, embedded systems, data mining and machine learning. The degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society and recognised internationally through the Seoul Accord, and includes a compulsory work placement with an approved host organisation. Applicants who do not meet the standard academic requirements may use the STAT test or be considered on work and life experience. Indicative international tuition is around A$43,600 per year. Graduates enter software, data and systems roles and can progress into project management.
