About this program
The Master of Fine Arts at Deakin University is built around studio practice, creative research and a major final project, helping students refine their creative voice and graduate with a standout portfolio. Students are supported by discipline experts in areas such as dance, theatre, new media, photography, visual arts and visual communication design, and build transferable skills valued across the creative industries including imaginative thinking, problem solving, collaboration and research. The multidisciplinary structure encourages cross-disciplinary work. Graduates pursue practice, teaching and leadership roles across the arts.

- Situating Practice
- Site, Audience and Community
- Practice, Industry and Publics Plus 4 credit points from one specialisation within the Master of Arts (Writing and Literature), Master of Communication, Master of Film and Television or Master of Artificial Intelligence for Design and Creative Practice, a research capstone (Masters Research Project B/C/D), and remaining electives from those same programs
