About this program
The Bachelor of Music at Edith Cowan University, taught at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, gives students the skills to succeed in the music industry. - Semester 1A core programme plus a major from Classical Performance, Composition and Sonic Arts, Contemporary Performance, or Jazz Performance, alongside one WAAPA Music History elective and six general elective units. Year 1: Music of Our Time plus major units
- Semester 1major units (Semester 2). Year 2: major units
- Semester 1an elective plus major units (Semester 2). Year 3: The Music Business, major units, an elective
- Semester 1major units, a history elective, an elective (Semester 2). Year 4: the capstone Creative Project 1, an elective, a history elective
- Creative Project 2, The Art of Teaching and Learning Music, an elective (Semester 2). Total: 4 years full time, at WAAPA, City Campus
Admissions
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published where applicable, or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: AQF Certificate IV, 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. For international students, requirements include secondary school results.
