About this program
The Bachelor of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University, taught at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, explores original, self-devised and collaborative approaches to researching, creating, producing and presenting contemporary arts practice. Course structure
1 term of coursework
- A core foundation program of 4 units plus two 8-unit majors
- supported by a 4-unit minor or four electives. Foundation units: Creativity and Collaboration in the Performing Arts
- Australian Performance and Production Practices
- Performing Arts Management
- Interweaving Cultures in the Performing Arts
- spread across the three years. Students then complete two full majors (8 units each) plus a minor or electives
- with the third year allowing focus on a chosen discipline. Recommended electives include Venue Operations
- Direction in Theory and Practice
- Production Management in Practice
- Arts and Festivals Marketing
- and Stage Combat and Intimacy. Total: 3 years full time

Admissions
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published where applicable, or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: AQF Certificate IV, 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. For international students, requirements include secondary school results.
