About this program
The Bachelor of Technology (Motorsports) at Edith Cowan University is the only motorsports engineering course in the Southern Hemisphere, based in Perth, Western Australia. It develops core problem solving, technical, financial and management skills for the manufacturing and motorsports industries, covering the design, simulation and fabrication of complex automotive systems and components. Students build hands on experience through ECUs Formula SAE program and motorsports labs, alongside extra curricular activities that support progression into the motorsports industry. 1 term of coursework
- Semester 1Year 1: Race Car Anatomy, Introduction to Engineering, Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Design, Introductory Applied Mathematics, with bridging units available for students without Year 11 Maths or Physics
- Semester 1Engineering Mechanics, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering Fundamentals, Mathematics 1 (Semester 2). Year 2: Materials and Manufacturing 1, Mechanical Science, Mechanical Design and Development, Race Car Systems
- Semester 1Materials and Manufacturing 2, Advanced Mechanical Design, Engineering Dynamics, an elective (Semester 2). Year 3: Technology Professional Practice, Motorsports Project 1, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Systems, Engineering Innovation and Ethics, Instrumentation and Measurement
- Motorsports Project 2, Engineering Management, an elective (Semester 2). Students who pass first year, including the bridging units, may transfer into a Bachelor of Engineering course with advanced standing. Accredited by Engineers Australia. Total: 3 years full time, on campus at Joondalup

Admissions
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published where applicable, or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: AQF Certificate IV, 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. For international students, requirements include secondary school results.
