Diploma of Community Services (Case Management)

Greenwich College, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

This is the more vocationally distinct qualification in Greenwich's diploma suite. It trains students directly in case management practice: needs assessment, care planning, working within legal and ethical frameworks, and coordinating services across the community sector rather than general business or management skills.

Given the sensitivity of the work, assessment leans heavily on scenario-based tasks and reflective practice, and the coursework spends real time on the legal and ethical obligations of case workers (duty of care, confidentiality, mandatory reporting contexts) rather than treating those as a single compliance module.

Students typically use this diploma either as a direct entry credential into community services, disability support or case-work roles, or as credit toward a partner university degree in social work, human services or community welfare. That latter pathway usually requires the student to complete additional units at the university end given how tightly regulated social work degrees are.
