About this program
Griffith University's Bachelor of Dental Hygiene degree. Take your first steps towards becoming a registered dental hygienist. With the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene you'll gain the ability to provide patient-centred oral health care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and education for the management and prevention of oral diseases in patients of all ages. You'll have the opportunity to undertake practical training in specialty clinics and learn from dental specialists in the fields of: periodontology radiology and radiography orthodontics oral pathology pharmacology special needs public health and health promotion. Highlights of studying the Bachelor of Dental Hygiene Learn to assess, diagnose, treat, manage, and educate patients in the prevention of oral diseases. Hands-on training in specialty clinics in the disciplines periodontology, implantology and orthodontics Learn skills in public health and health promotion to provide appropriate preventive oral health education to individuals and communities. Clinical training in a collaborative environment Build practical skills in our modern dental clinic and simulation lab, learning the latest techniques and technologies alongside dentistry students. You'll also work with dentists, dental technicians, dental prosthetists and specialists, developing the communication and teamwork skills essential for effective patient care and clinical practice.
