About this program

The Holmes Institute MBA is a 1.5 year, full time postgraduate degree across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast, built around 8 core units in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, statistics, management, strategy and business research, plus 4 electives that can be taken as a single specialisation (Information Systems, Accounting, or International Business and Enterprise) or spread across specialisations for a generic MBA. Students may also exit early with a Graduate Certificate in Business after 1 trimester (the first 4 core units) or a Graduate Diploma in Business after 2 trimesters (8 units), both of which credit fully into a later return to the MBA.

As a smaller private provider rather than a Group of Eight university, the degree does not carry sandstone brand weight, and most graduates use it to move into management roles in small to mid sized organisations or to support a skilled migration pathway rather than to break into top tier consulting. It suits applicants who already have a bachelor's degree or several years of relevant industry experience and want a generalist management toolkit without relocating overseas or leaving the workforce for two years.
