About this program
Learn how to support the health of individuals, communities and populations with La Trobe University's Bachelor of Health Sciences. In this degree, you will develop transferable skills for careers across diverse areas of health sciences and postgraduate pathways into emerging and established health professions. Depending on your campus and study mode, you can choose from majors in allied health, digital health, environmental health, food and nutrition, health promotion, psychological science, public health, and rehabilitation, counselling and wellbeing. Shape your degree with the flexibility to study a major and minor, or a double major. By studying the Bachelor of Health Sciences, you will learn how to: apply scientific thinking, laboratory and fieldwork skills to investigate health issues analyse how minds, society, environments and political structures affect health at local, national and international levels collaborate with others and communicate scientific information in professional health contexts engage with emerging technologies including AI to support socially responsible and equitable healthcare apply theoretical concepts through supervised industry placements, projects and community engagement opportunities. *Please be aware that the digital health, health promotion and public health majors in this course include mandatory in-person placement requirements. Students are expected to complete these placements in Australia. The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 7 - Bachelor Degree.
