About this program

The Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at La Trobe University prepares students to help people of all ages who experience difficulties with communication or with eating and drinking. Students develop an understanding of the anatomy behind speech and swallowing impairments and learn to provide therapeutic treatment and management options. They build hands-on skills through approximately 1,000 hours of placement on-campus and in clinics across Victoria, and complete a research project aimed at improving speech pathology services and policies. Graduates work in hospitals, health centres, rehabilitation centres, teaching and consultancy.
