About this program
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession focused on diagnosing, treating, managing, and preventing musculoskeletal disorders, conditions that affect the muscles, bones, joints, and nerves. Chiropractors are dedicated to understanding how these disorders can impact overall health and well-being. With a deep knowledge of the connection between the body’s structure and function, chiropractors take a holistic approach to care. In this course, you will explore a variety of non-invasive treatment approaches used by chiropractors, including manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, patient education, lifestyle advice, and self-care strategies. You will also explore the role of chiropractic in delivering integrated care as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. The goal is to empower individuals of all ages to live healthier, more active lives by preventing and managing musculoskeletal issues. The Bachelor of Chiropractic Science is the first step in your journey to becoming a chiropractor. After completing the Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, you will be eligible to apply to the Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University, where you will gain the advanced expertise required to practice as a qualified chiropractor. On successful completion of the Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, you will achieve the following graduate capabilities: Capability 1 Scientist and Scholar : Graduates will be applied scientists and research-informed scholars with the core knowledge and skills required within the chiropractic discipline. Capability 2 Practitioner : Graduates will be effective communicators and highly skilled, competent practitioners able to adopt a person-centred approach to practice.
