About this program
The Bachelor of Health Sciences is an innovative and versatile degree that allows you to specialise in a major of your choice—Health Administration, Digital Health, Mental Health and Counselling, or Health Coaching. You will master the fundamentals of human health and explore the social and societal factors that influence it, equipping yourself with the essential knowledge to make a meaningful impact in the health sector. Additionally, you will engage in professional practice experiences that sharpen your problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and ethical skills. With hands-on learning within the MQ Health Precinct, this course prepares you for a successful career in the ever-evolving health industry. As such, the degree has been specifically designed to develop the following four graduate capabilities: Capability 1. Scientist and Scholar: Graduates will be work-ready health scientists and research-informed scholars with the broad knowledge and skills required to address emerging and current health-related issues. Capability 2. Practitioner: Graduates will be multimodal communicators and solution-oriented practitioners able to critically analyse and communicate information concerning local and global health issues. Capability 3. Citizen: Graduates will be inclusive and culturally respectful citizens who can adapt readily to new situations and make effective decisions under pressure. Capability 4. Professional: Graduates will be ethical and reflective professionals committed to lifelong learning who can work collaboratively and autonomously to achieve common goals.
