About this program

MIT's Bachelor of Business runs a common first year (business communications, management principles, introductory accounting, marketing principles, information systems fundamentals, economic principles, commercial law and business statistics, several of them CPA-accredited units) before students lock in one of six majors: Accounting, Business Analytics, Contemporary Management, Management, Marketing and Digital Communications, or Professional Accounting. The Accounting and Professional Accounting majors carry CPA-accredited core units, which matters for international students eyeing accounting as a skilled migration occupation. The Business Analytics major overlaps meaningfully with MIT's separate Bachelor of Data Analytics, so applicants choosing between the two should look closely at how technical versus general-business each degree actually is.

As with MIT's other degrees, the pitch is practical and industry-connected teaching in smaller classes than a large public university, a flipped-classroom format, and the InSPIRE academic support scheme built around a cohort that skews heavily international. The degree closes with a mandatory Industry Based Capstone Project in the final trimester.

MIT runs three intakes a year (March, July, November) from both its Melbourne and Sydney campuses.
