Bachelor of Agentic Software Engineering
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Agentic Software Engineering is a new degree focused specifically on building software systems with AI components, agentic workflows and human-AI collaboration, rather than treating AI as a specialisation within a general software engineering degree. Students build a strong software engineering foundation alongside training in judgement, quality, security, usability and responsible AI practices across the full software development lifecycle, reflecting how much software engineering work now involves integrating AI components rather than writing conventional code alone. Embedded professional practice units and work-integrated learning opportunities run throughout the degree, so students graduate with a portfolio demonstrating real technical capability rather than only academic results. It suits students who want to work specifically at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, positioning graduates for roles building AI-powered products and systems as agentic software becomes standard across the tech industry. Entry requires an ATAR of around 80 at Clayton, along with Units 3-4 English and Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics.
