About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence Advanced (Honours) follows the same core curriculum as the standard Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence, teaching students to build AI systems from ideation through to a tested solution with a specialisation in either applied artificial intelligence or AI algorithms and models, but is designed for students entering with stronger academic results who want an honours research pathway added on top. As with the standard degree, professional practice units and work-integrated learning opportunities including placements and internships build a genuine portfolio of AI development experience throughout the course. The honours component adds deeper research training, useful preparation for postgraduate study or research-oriented AI roles in industry or academia. It suits high-achieving students who already know AI is their career direction and want a more selective entry cohort along with the added research depth the honours pathway provides, on top of the ATAR of around 80 required at Clayton for the base degree.

ATAR 80 (Clayton). Requires English (Units 3-4, study score 25+) and, for most of these courses, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (study score 22-25+). VET and higher-education pathway entry also available.
