Bachelor of Computer Science
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash University's Bachelor of Computer Science is a three-year degree of 24 units (144 credit points), grounded in the theory of computation and its links to mathematics. It normally includes eight first-year units, at least six third-year units, eight specialisation units and eight free electives, which students can use for a major (including from another faculty), two minors, or any units of interest; majors are optional and appear on the academic transcript. Available specialisations include artificial intelligence and data science. Embedded professional-practice units bring in industry projects and work-integrated learning, so students build a portfolio of real project work. Applicants must meet the VCE subject prerequisites or equivalent, including English; those who do not can enter through the Monash College Diploma of Engineering (IT stream). Graduates enter software, data and research roles.
