About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Health Sciences gives students a broad foundation across health science and healthcare delivery before asking them to commit to a specific specialisation, which suits students who know they want a health career but haven't settled on exactly which one. The degree covers the physiological, behavioural, developmental, social and environmental dimensions of human health, building an evidence-based approach to understanding health issues that applies across many different health professions rather than training toward one specific clinical role. At the end of first semester of second year, students map out their own path through the degree, focusing their remaining studies on the area of health sciences that interests them most. That structure makes the degree a flexible entry point into the broader health sector for students still exploring their options, whether that eventually leads toward further clinical study, health administration, health promotion or public health research, rather than committing to a single professional pathway from day one of enrolment.
