About this program

The Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science is a three-year hands-on degree covering the chemistry, biology and technology of medicines and other chemical formulations, taught on campus at Parkville with an offering also in Malaysia. Students spend substantial time in laboratories using industry-standard research instrumentation, learning how drugs are discovered, formulated, tested and manufactured, and how to develop more reliable, accessible and effective treatments and products. Teaching is by researchers at the international forefront of their fields. This degree does not qualify graduates to practise as a pharmacist. Graduates work in pharmaceutical and biotechnology research and development, drug formulation and analysis, quality control and assurance, regulatory affairs, and clinical trials, or continue to postgraduate research.
