Bachelor of Pharmacy

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) trains students to understand how medicines work and their impact on the body, combining an interactive, hands-on instructional model with work placements in hospitals and community pharmacies from early in the degree. Students use MyDispense, a Monash-developed pharmacy simulation adopted by pharmacy schools worldwide, and maintain an electronic skills portfolio called COMeT that helps demonstrate their competencies when applying for internships and pharmacist roles later. A supervised research project builds genuine inquiry skills alongside the clinical and pharmaceutical science training, and the course is accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council, meeting the academic requirements for pharmacist registration in Australia. Students based in Australia can complete a one-semester exchange at Monash's Malaysia campus, which also offers the same accredited course. Career paths span community, hospital and consultant pharmacy roles as well as the pharmaceutical industry, government regulatory bodies, and clinical research, with Monash pharmacy graduates working around the world.
