Bachelor of Public Health

Monash's Bachelor of Public Health looks at health at the level of populations and communities rather than individual patients, training students to design, implement and evaluate programs and policies that promote health and prevent disease and injury across whole groups of people. Coursework spans biomedical sciences, health promotion, epidemiology, forensic medicine, social sciences and health data management, giving students the breadth to work across the many different arms of the public health sector rather than one narrow specialty. The course maintains a genuinely global orientation throughout, examining health challenges in both Australia and international contexts rather than treating public health as a purely domestic policy area. It suits students who want to work on health at a systems and policy level, whether that's disease prevention, health promotion campaigns, health data analysis or global health work, rather than students aiming for direct clinical patient care, and it provides a solid foundation for further postgraduate study in public health, epidemiology or health policy.
