Bachelor of Radiation Sciences

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Bachelor of Radiation Sciences combines technical and scientific training with health and patient care, covering radiation physics, imaging anatomy, radiobiology, oncology, radiation therapy, general radiography, medical ultrasound, CT and MRI across the degree. Students develop beginner-level clinical skills specifically in radiation therapy planning, treatment delivery and patient care and management, alongside the psychology, ethics and cultural competency needed to work directly with cancer patients and others receiving radiation-based treatment. The breadth across imaging and therapy modalities distinguishes this degree from a narrower radiography-only qualification, giving graduates exposure to both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic radiation applications. It suits students interested in the technical and patient-care sides of medical imaging and cancer treatment, positioning graduates for careers in radiation therapy, medical imaging or related allied health roles working directly with patients undergoing cancer diagnosis and treatment.
