Diploma of Engineering
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash College's Diploma of Engineering prepares students for a Monash University engineering degree through a two-part structure: Part 1 covers the mathematics and science theory that underpins engineering study, while Part 2 has students studying the same subjects as first-year Monash University students, building specialist engineering knowledge and university-level practical skills. From Trimester 3, 2026, eligible students can complete Part 2 faster by enrolling in four units per trimester across two trimesters rather than three, though students with mathematics prerequisite gaps may still need the full three trimesters. International students who complete Part 2 gain direct entry into second year of their Monash engineering degree, while domestic students can enter first year after Part 1 or second year after Part 2. It suits students who want to study engineering at Monash but need additional academic preparation, whether due to a mathematics prerequisite gap, English language requirements, or an international qualification that doesn't map directly onto Australian entry standards.
