About this program
The Graduate Diploma of Business doubles the Graduate Certificate's commitment to eight units, giving you a broader base across Monash Business School's postgraduate curriculum while still functioning as a stepping stone rather than a full master's. It's built for people who want more than a taste of graduate business study and are likely to progress into a specialist master's degree once they've confirmed which discipline suits them. As with the certificate, you can direct a chunk of your units toward health economics through the Centre for Health Economics if that's your background, or spread study across marketing, management, finance and related fields. Because units come from the same pool used in Monash's coursework master's programs, most of what you complete here can be credited if you later enrol in one of those degrees, so the diploma works well as a low-risk way to test postgraduate business study before committing to a longer program. Entry requires an Australian bachelor's degree or approved pathway with at least a 55% average, making it more accessible than most of Monash's direct-entry master's degrees.

Course structure
- The course comprises 48 points of study. You must complete any eight units selected from the coursework master's degrees offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics with at least six units (36points) at level 4 or above. You are required to consult with the Business and Economics Student Services team to ensure that suitable units are selected to achieve the course learning outcomes
- taking into consideration your individual personal study objectives and background. You need to seek advice regarding the selection of units if considering further study in a master's degree
