Master of Industrial Design (Double Masters with Southeast University)
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Master of Industrial Design, offered here as an international double master's with Southeast University in Suzhou, China, lets eligible design graduates complete both the Monash qualification and a second degree from the Chinese partner institution. The course sharpens industrial design practice at an advanced level through sustained design projects that require high-level planning, resourcing, implementation and evaluation, aiming to produce graduates with an expert understanding of the professional design process rather than only technical design skills. Because the qualification is awarded jointly with a Chinese partner university, it suits design graduates specifically looking for genuine international study experience and recognition in the Chinese market alongside their Australian qualification. Places in the double-degree pathway are limited and typically require direct inquiry with the relevant course coordinator, so it functions as a specialised international variant of Monash's standard industrial design postgraduate offering rather than the default enrolment path.
