About this program
Design thinking and service innovation methods are applied across sectors to address complex business and social issues, with a number of organisations crediting the approach for improvements to their products, services, and business models. In this course, students use human-centred and co-design methods to reframe, apply insights to, and evaluate complex commercial and social service issues, aiming to improve outcomes for consumers or users. Students also apply these methods practically by developing, prototyping, and implementing outcomes through a face-to-face client project as part of the course. The course is aimed at graduates and professionals from fields such as business, community development, engineering, graphic design, health services, information technology, marketing, strategic communications, and sustainable development. Design and innovation roles are not commonly listed as skilled migration occupations in Australia, so the course is a stronger fit for professional skill development than for a migration pathway. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.
