About this program
The RMIT Bachelor of Fashion Sustainability has students work across digital prototyping, material innovation, circular design and sustainability strategy to create change in a sector that is ready for it. Students combine capabilities in technology and sustainability with an understanding of how fashion systems operate, developing forward-looking solutions for how clothes are made, consumed and experienced. Graduates work in sustainable fashion design and strategy, materials and supply chain innovation, and circular economy roles.

Year 1 Year 1 In your first year, you'll learn how fashion connects to people, planet and place, and what it takes to change the industry for the better. You'll unpack how clothes are made, used and disposed of, explore different fibres and fabrics and their impacts across their life cycle, and consider how fashion is tied to stories of place, culture and community, including Indigenous and local perspectives. You'll also develop skills to communicate complex sustainability ideas in clear, engaging ways using different tools, media and global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals, while being introduced to circular and regenerative approaches that focus on repair, restoration and keeping materials in use for longer. Admissions
Prerequisites: Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL; or a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or equivalent studies . Rankings and adjustment factors Entry to this course is competitive. Eligible applicants are ranked and selected in order of merit based on their academic achievement plus any adjustment factors. You may be eligible to receive adjustment factors which include equity access schemes and/or subject adjustments to a maximum of 28 aggregate adjustment points.
