About this program
The Bachelor of Project Management (Honours) at RMIT University builds the skills to initiate, plan and execute complex projects across a range of industries. The degree provides theoretical knowledge and practical know-how to take projects from inception to completion, with tools to manage projects across a range of scales and complexities. Students can take a minor to enhance employability in a specific project management field, and the course is fully accredited. Course structure
- Year 1 In your first year of study
- you will be introduced to project management in the construction and property industries
- providing the context for the following three years. You will learn essential project management skills and gain an understanding of the different types of buildings and assets
- how they are created
- and how they are acquired. Year 2 In the second year
- you will study project management processes and techniques in greater depth
- learning how to plan
- cost and schedule projects. Building broader skills in areas like law
- economics and leadership will prepare you to become an industry leader. You will be able to choose a minor in this year
- giving you the opportunity to specialise in a project management field. Year 3 The third year broadens your focus and looks at project management in other industries
- building core knowledge and skills. You will gain a deeper understanding of how to manage complex projects
- and undertake a research methods course which will build the foundation for your research project in year 4. Year 4 The theme of your final year is 'moving to practice'
- preparing you to be industry-ready. You will gain advanced skills and insights into the latest industry trends. A feature of your fourth year is a capstone project
- where the skills and knowledge developed in the degree are applied to a project for social benefit. You will also conduct a research project
- including writing a thesis and creating a poster to present your research to industry representatives

Admissions
Prerequisites: Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL; or a study score of at least 27 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or equivalent studies . AND Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics or equivalent studies. Rankings and adjustment factors Entry to this course is competitive. Eligible applicants are ranked and selected in order of merit based on their academic achievement plus any adjustment factors. You may be eligible to receive adjustment factors which include equity access schemes and/or subject adjustments to a maximum of 28 aggregate adjustment points.
