About this program
UC's Bachelor of Business is built around five shared core units in accounting, economics, management, marketing and business law, on top of which students pick a major: Management, Marketing, International Business, Business Informatics or the university's well-known Sport Management stream, which trades on Canberra's cluster of national sporting bodies rather than generic case studies.
Work Integrated Learning is treated as a graduation requirement rather than an optional add-on. Depending on major, that can mean an industry project, a study tour, a placement with a local business, or, for Sport Management students, a 150-hour internship in the final year arranged through UC's ties to organisations such as the AIS, Cricket ACT and various NRL and Super Rugby franchises based in or visiting the capital.
Because the degree is offered both on campus and fully online, cohorts mix school-leavers with working professionals returning to formalise a business qualification, which shapes discussion in electives toward real workplace scenarios rather than textbook cases.
