About this program
A four-year degree accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia, so graduates are eligible to apply for accreditation as an exercise physiologist and, along the way, as an exercise scientist. Students complete at least 500 hours of placement across hospitals, clinical health services, sporting organisations, private practice and community health.
The program frames exercise as medicine, working with people across the lifespan on injury recovery, chronic disease, aged care and rehabilitation, with an emphasis on clinical reasoning and person-centred care. Entry is a selection rank of about 70 with assumed knowledge in biology and mathematical methods, and IELTS 7.0 with no band below 7.0. It suits students who want a clinical allied-health career rather than a fitness or coaching one.
