About this program
The Master of Creative Arts Therapy at the University of Melbourne is a blended learning program with a specialisation in either drama or dance movement therapy, using creative modalities within a therapeutic relationship to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Students complete supervised industry placements in community, health and education settings over 24 months full-time, studying theory, methods, research and professional practice.
Graduates are eligible for professional registration with the Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia or the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association.

Admissions
To be considered for entry into this course, you must: Have completed a bachelor degree (AQF7) or equivalent in any discipline. Or Have six years of documented relevant experience. Relevant experience may include creative or performing arts, community arts practice or education. Please note this is not a complete list of possible experience. Relevance is always assessed on a case-by-case basis. The entry requirements published for this course will apply from the start year 2027 intake onwards.
