Master of Economics

The University of Melbourne Master of Economics is a two-year full-time degree, four years part-time, that trains students to practise as professional economists in the public or private sectors. Applicants from a non-economics background need an undergraduate major of a mathematical or analytical nature including calculus, linear algebra and statistics, with a weighted average of at least 65 per cent, and must have completed microeconomics and macroeconomics at second-year level or above. Students with an economics honours degree or a relevant postgraduate degree with a weighted average of at least 75 per cent may receive up to 100 points of credit, shortening the course. All applicants must meet the University English language requirements. International tuition is about A$67,900 per year.
