Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours)

University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

About this program

The Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) at the University of Queensland trains students to become Accredited Exercise Physiologists, health professionals who use exercise to prevent and manage chronic disease, injury and disability. Students complete more than 600 hours of hands-on placement in UQ's own exercise clinics and with industry partners, working with real clients under supervision rather than only in a classroom. Core courses cover biomechanics, exercise prescription for musculoskeletal conditions, exercise programming for ageing populations, and metabolic disease and cancer, taught in dedicated biomechanics, motor control and strength and conditioning laboratories. Teaching staff include past national exercise and sport science award winners, and the honours component gives graduates a pathway into further research if they choose. Typical graduate roles include exercise physiologist, exercise scientist, strength and conditioning specialist or cardiac scientist.
