About this program
The Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences at the University of Queensland focuses on physical activity and nutrition, two of the biggest risk factors for chronic disease, and prepares graduates for both clinical and non-clinical health careers. Students choose one of three majors, in nutrition sciences, sports coaching or sporting cultures, and complete 50 hours of placement in clinics, sporting clubs or health organisations as part of the degree. Core courses cover health and fitness through diet and exercise, the psychology of sport, and physical activity and health, and the program can be combined into dual degrees with journalism or a diploma in languages for students who want a broader qualification. Graduates commonly move into roles such as nutrition assistant, health and wellbeing consultant, fitness and weight loss consultant or sports journalist.
