About this program

The University of Queensland Bachelor of Nursing is a three-year degree that leads to registration as a nurse. Clinical placements start in first year, beginning with shorter placements over the first two years and building to extended full-time placements in the final year, for a total of 880 hours of supervised clinical practice in leading hospitals and healthcare facilities. Placements can include rural, regional and international settings, with students responsible for their own travel and living costs. Graduates apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for registration. International students need a high level of English: IELTS Academic 7.0 with 7.0 in every band, or equivalent. Biology, Chemistry or Physics in senior secondary study is strongly recommended. Students also budget for a first aid certificate, vaccinations and serology. International tuition is about A$40,200 per year.
