Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)

University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

About this program

UQ's Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) trains students to help people of all ages overcome barriers to everyday activities caused by injury, illness, disability or ageing, at what is considered one of Australia's leading schools for health and rehabilitation sciences. From first year, students gain practical experience across community and healthcare settings, including UQ's own on-site clinics, alongside coursework in systematic and applied anatomy, introduction to professional skills, and occupational therapy for children and youth. The degree builds knowledge across medical, social, behavioural and psychosocial sciences so graduates can modify tasks, environments or routines to suit an individual client's needs rather than applying a single fixed method. The embedded honours qualification is internationally recognised and can lead into further research or postgraduate study. Graduates typically register as occupational therapists, working in injury rehabilitation, disability services, aged care or paediatric settings.
