Bachelor of Pharmaceutics and Therapeutic Science (exit award only)
University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Pharmaceutics and Therapeutic Science (exit award only) is granted at the University of Queensland to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmaceutics and Therapeutic Science / Doctor of Pharmacy dual degree who complete 48 units in years 1 to 3 but choose, or need, to leave before the Doctor of Pharmacy stage. The full 5 year dual degree trains students to work as registered pharmacists, with over 700 hours of supervised clinical placement across community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and aged care beginning in year 2, and an optional major in Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics for students interested in a research project in areas like drug discovery. Honours is not available for this exit award. A student exiting after the bachelor stage keeps a recognised science qualification covering pharmaceutical and therapeutic science coursework and placement hours, useful for roles in pharmaceutical companies, laboratories or further study, but without the clinical training and registration that completing the full Doctor of Pharmacy provides.
