Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia
About this program
The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) at the University of Queensland trains students to become registered pharmacists, teaching safe, effective, patient-centred use of medicines alongside the technical knowledge needed to work as a medicines expert. Teaching happens in UQ's roughly $100 million biomedical science centre at Dutton Park, purpose-built with laboratories, mock dispensaries and simulated pharmacies, and includes two 6-week clinical placements plus an interprofessional education program with other health disciplines. Core courses include pharmacy practice and medicines management, pharmaceutical sciences, and pharmacokinetics and medicines management, building toward registration as a community, hospital or industrial pharmacist. The honours component gives the degree a research dimension beyond standard pharmacy registration training, and graduates describe the program's cohort as a close-knit professional community rather than a large lecture-only degree.
